This afternoon at André House's Phoenix human services campus, we were fortunate enough to donate over 500 pairs of sneakers to their beneficiaries. These donations have now skyrocketed our total donations from ~1000 sneakers over two years to now more than 1500!!! Thank you to the Phoenix community for providing these donations, and especially Brophy's Mothers' Guild as well as local charity Jack and Jill for donating the vast majority of these shoes.
The majority of these pairs of sneakers went to homeless adults, many of whom are trying to figure out what to do after The Zone has been dissolved. Most of those with whom we spoke were planning to use the high quality sneakers to provide better foot support and/or use the shoes for work. Additionally, another common theme we found was many of the men trying to find shoes for their children, wives or girlfriends. We are very grateful that we were able to provide such a large donation to such a hurting portion of our Phoenix community!
Huge thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Agliano from Brophy College Prep who were able to help us get this operation up and running, and additionally Debbie and John at André House! Check out the images below.
